Şahin Sisters

During the evening Berrin and Rojda Sahin will treat us to an intimate live performance. The sisters are Kirmanc Alevis - an outlook of life that originates from the city Dersim in the south east of Turkey - with a belief in humanism and that earth and nature is holy. The philosophy, which permeates the folk music they play, is that you are your own God and love is a religion that creates it’s prophets. Their rhythmical music is a declaration of love to all of universe. 

Berrin plays baglama, cura and sings in different languages. Her performances consist of modern folk musik and new takes on spiritual and tradiotional music - which has led to collaborations and directors like Ale Möller, Peter Oscarsson and Minna Johannesson. Rojda works as a producer and songwriter and produces music to other artists as well as her own artistry under the name KELAA, which recieved a lot of attention globally online during 2019.
